  • My dad's memorial service was wonderful. Over 100 people showed up, including some who had previously said they couldn't make it. Dorian had a sermon prepared, but after Mom, Gilly and I each spoke about Dad he felt we had said everything he was going to say anyway. Also, the service that we had intended to be half an hour lasted nearly an hour. Tara sat near the back of the room, and said she noticed a lot of men were crying during our speeches. This is a huge change from most funerals for guys from the model aircraft clubs, as they usually stand around red-faced and trying not to cry, and instead only talking about model engines in an attempt to avoid the discomfort.
